Lei Man Lay

The project addressed the design of a food waste education system for high school students. Equipping adolescents with knowledge of a sustainable future by giving them a role in creating a circular sustainable system. Explaining the why (importance of caring for the world), how (composting methods) and what (benefits of participating) to students. In the system each student year level has a specific role, from collecting waste, doing bokashi fermentation, using a compost barrel, to using the fertilised soil in a gardening situation. The design provides a lifelong lesson in how to turn waste into nutrient rich soil.
