"TrueSelf" supports gay teenagers (13-17) in rural Victoria, Australia, who face unique challenges during the coming out process, including mental health risks and fear of family rejection. Utilizing a care-centered, social design approach, TrueSelf combines a digital platform that guides teens in self-discovery and resilience with physical resources for families to foster open communication and acceptance. By bridging the gap between teens and their families, this toolkit aims to reduce stigma, improve mental well-being, and create a safer, more supportive environment for gay youth as they navigate their identity.
