Extreme heat caused by climate change is a significant issue in Melbourne, driven by various factors. While designers cannot immediately reverse rising temperatures, they can create climate-resilient spaces to help people adapt to hot weather. Breezy project redesigned the Sir Robert Risson Tram Terminus to be a thermal comfort area for tram network users waiting at this stop. The design features a structure that provides cooling experience through a combination of water evaporation, enhanced airflow, and shading. This low-tech approach is both environmentally sustainable and cost-effective.
