In a world where advanced digital production continues to push the boundaries of what is physically possible; Where do the limitations of the maker truly lie? 3D printing for creatives exposes students to an array of processes, technologies and concepts, attempting to leverage ones creativity beyond their comfort zone. Utilizing FDM print technology, Lasercutting, CNC, 3D CAD and 3D Scanning, students are able to explore ideas beyond the normal limitations of a manual manufacturing context, allowing them greater freedom to design, develop and make. Exploiting both new and existing materials in conjunction with these technologies, great emphasis is placed on the need to be strategic in both design and manufacture. The adage being: Utilize the right material, with the right process, in the right place, for the right reason. This is the crux of 3D printing for Creatives.
