EXPERIMENTAL INTERFACES
Our contemporary lives are pervaded by screens. Phones, tablets, smart watches, televisions, monitors, laptops follow our field of view every waking moment. The studio sought to subvert our gaze by designing internet-enabled objects and devices that look beyond the world of pixels. Utilising interactive technologies and digital fabrication techniques, students rethought what the ‘Internet of Things’ can be. Focussing on sensory, material, and specialised interfaces the studio investigated new and innovative ways to interact with computers by utilising new materials, engaging different senses, and designing specialised interfaces for people, communities, and industries.
