CLOSED LOOP - OPEN INNOVATION

The studio identified environmental problems that exist in society today and developed strategies to design commercially viable solutions to these problems. Ideas targeted waste reduction, the elimination of single-use plastic, the replacement of high-churn consumer goods with longer lasting ones, and the optimization of material and energy efficiencies in production of everyday goods. Exploring the interconnection between marketing and design the students developed ways to communicate the benefit of the design solution to prospective stakeholders who would be interested in licensing the IP and bring the product to market.
