ACOUSTIC CRAFT

The studio explored the design of a flexible experimentation space for a spatial-audio experiences. In doing this, the students engaged in creative design experiments using passive and active acoustic techniques. Working with Marshall Day Acoustics the students mastered techniques for designing and modelling an acoustic gallery. Developing acoustic design documentation skills relevant to industry standards as well as building skills needed to communicate complex acoustic concepts. The studio culminated in the presentation of the physical architectural design along with a multi-channel recreation of the sonic and acoustic characteristics of the space.
