PhD CANDIDATE

Tria is an Interdisciplinary PhD Candidate at KU Leuven, within the Faculty of Engineering Technology and the Faculty of Architecture. Her project is a collaborative research initiative between BioTeC+ and Regenerative Architecture Art and Design (RAAD). This project aims to create a circular, regenerative urban metabolism by implementing innovative bioprocesses and biotechnologies. Since 2023, Tria expanded her research to include fungal growth and biomineralisation, focusing on the development of biologically based architectural materials. This work earned her a PhD fellowship from the Research Foundation Flanders, Belgium.
