The Buzz is an urban haven that favours the reproduction and livelihood of Australian native bees. The project proposes an immersive spatial experience to elevate the conversation for humans on the pollination crisis and provide the agency for humans to collectively defend the importance of ecosystem services.

Sited in Fitzroy Gardens Melbourne, the design provides diverse flowering plants to accommodate the bees fundamental dietary needs and restore their natural habitats. Their nest sites are provided by ‘beescraper’ poles made of organic material that are scattered in the garden landscape. A promenade provides a spatial experience for human visitors to observe and immerse themselves in the natural landscape while not impinging on the bees natural habitat.
