Dig-a-saur is a hybrid interactive play system that gamifies discovery in museums. The game comes with NFC-enabled playing cards including dinosaur bone fragments, tools, precious stones and event cards. As players take turns to ‘dig’ through the cards they attempt to find three bone fragments of one of the dinosaurs. Each fragment card activates video content that is viewable on a smart phone or TV. These videos tells the players about the sound the dinosaur makes, its eating habits and its habitat. When a player collects all three dinosaur fragment cards they win the game. Scanning the three cards in succession activates an AR dinosaur that can roam around the player's house.
