Meleidoscope is an immersive art experience that captures the sensorial qualities of the Melbourne CBD during the COVID-19 lockdowns of 2021. Walking into the installation people experience the visual and sonic qualities of the 'ghost' city that Melbourne became during the pandemic. By engaging in a self-curated dérive’, the audience immerses themselves in a sense of being lost in the sights and sounds of the strangely quiet city. Ultimately, the installation brings the subtle and poetic nature of the city’s acoustic environments to the public's attention and acts as a memorial of the effects the pandemic brought to our everyday lives.
