IN THE DYING LIGHT

Framed by the notion of accessibility and the performative mode of wayfinding, this studio combined accessible sensory techniques and qualitative methods to gather, organise and make sense of environmental information.  These studies were applied to creative design processes in the reorganisation of perceptual features that can transform or enhance an experience of space.

Whilst accessibility is mostly concerned with our capacity to enter and use a space, wayfinding is less about the codified signs and signals within the environment, and more about people, personal experiences and encounters during a journey. Wayfinding is a tool for connecting a subjective experience to the accessibility of information to reveal just how connected, or disconnected, an environment may be.
