The studio invited students to explore augmentation and the body as a site of interaction, mediation and expression. Running in conjunction with international design competition RESHAPE 19/Cognified Matter, the studio focused on future applications of Wearable Tech and Smart Products, redefining contemporary devices towards a new generation of cognitive nodes, connecting us to our habitats and ecosystems.

The studio challenged designers to envision innovative solutions that establish a connection with the environment and speculate on near future contexts. Exploring and interrogating the evolving relationship between digital material and humans. Students explored innovative materials, digital fabrication, wearable electronics, IoT and prosthetic applications, with a focus on mediating function between our body its needs and others.
